Art & Rhythm Foundation feels honoured to announce a “CIVIC RECEPTION” function to honour “War-Widows” (Veeranganas) and to felicitate Women of Courage for their distinguished service to the nation & society on Monday, the 28th December 2015 at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi-110001.

The function will start with the theme “SARHADEIN” which is a dance-drama by well-known “Kathak exponent”, Sonali Sharma, disciple of Guru Rajender Gangani of “Jaipur Gharana” and will end with the words “Shawet-KabTak“, where the special focus will be on the contribution of such women whose undying love for the country becomes a beautiful example and a source of inspiration for others. A ‘soul-searching’ photo exhibition by eminent artists has been organized on the above theme and would be showcased for the audience. A “Veerangana” bears the true scars of struggle and faces desolation for a lifetime and it’s rightly said that the soldier’s war has ended, but the war of his “Ardhangani” has just begun.  The sole idea behind this movement is to ensure that the Veeranganas receive heart-felt respect of the society and nation at large and her aspirations to move forward towards a dignified life are free from social stigmas.
Through the Dance-Drama performance, we make a plea to the Civil Society to not only understand but also cherish the role of these “Bharat Ki Veeranganas”, the ‘ever-victorious’ women. Art & Rhythm Foundation makes an appeal – Let us together, as brothers & sisters, arise to address the social issues which hamper the growth of our beloved India, for which numerous soldiers and their families have made the supreme sacrifice. It starts with us, it starts with me. I arise!!!
The first thing you’ll notice about our plight is that it’s not focused on grief and death as much as support and recovery.  We offer compassion and encouragement – seeing to that the struggling get help to stand on their own and to say “Yes” I can do it.
